Instant Coffee Review

What's Your Favorite Instant Coffee?

Let's start with three well known favorites and then I'll introduce you to a new rich flavored coffee made from Premium Gesha Beans grown in Boquete, Panama. The comments accompanying each of the product images below were copied directly from their respective websites. I will share my thoughts with you after a Cost & Flavor comparison.

Nescafe Blend 43 Instant Coffee This signature NESCAFE coffee has a distinct, bold flavor and unmistakable aroma that comes from a blend of high quality Arabica and Robusta beans. A medium roast gives it a full-bodied flavor and rich aroma. Nescafe Blend 43 is made from 100% coffee beans and contains no additives. Nescafe Gold Original Instant Coffee To achieve a smooth, rounded flavor we blend premium Arabica and Robusta beans, then golden roast them to bring out gentle caramel flavors while keeping the rich, juicy aromatics. NESCAFE Gold is made from 100% coffee beans and contains no additives.

Moccona Gourmet Range Instant Rich Make all your coffee moments a more luxurious and indulgent experience with the Moccona Gourmet Range. Made from carefully selected 100% Arabica beans for a superior tasting coffee.

Sisel Panama Boquete Gesha Instant Black Coffee Our premium coffee beans are grown in a unique micro-climate on the slopes of an ancient Panamanian volcano. Instant Premium Panama Boquete Geisha Black Coffee. This enriching atmosphere produces sweet coffee beans, unique to the world. When combined with a rich blend of Chaga, Gotu Kola, Bacopa and organic Ganoderma extracts creates what Sisel believes is the healthiest and best tasting coffee available.

Cost & Flavor Comparison

Nescafe Gold Arabica & Robusta origin not specified ** $9.13 2g 18 cents

Moccona Rich Blend 100% Arabica origin not specified *** $10.21 2g 20 cents

Sisel Kaffe Black 100% Geisha Arabica from Boquete Panama **** $22.86 3g 76 cents

NOTE: The pricing of the Nescape & Moccona coffee was taken from Woolworths Online Shopping website in Australia (using their everyday, non-discounted prices) on September 12th 2013. The price of Sisel Kaffe was taken from the Sisel International corporate website & does not include postage. My Verdict

The flavour of Sisel Kaffe Instant Black Coffee is on a par with the freshly brewed coffee I make in my Gaggia Espresso Coffee Maker, it's just missing the "Crema" on top. So now when I want a quick cup without the delay of warming-up the coffee maker I reach for a convenient little sachet of Sisel Kaffe. Yes, it is a lot more expensive than the other instant coffees I tested however, "you get what you pay for".

Sisel Kaffe Instant Black is a great tasting cup of coffee and has many additional healthy ingredients. Sisel will have ground bagged coffee suitable for Espresso machines available in the near future, I'm anxious to give it a try and I'll report back here with my verdict. I'm keen to get your feedback in the comments section below.

What's Your Favorite Instant Coffee? 24 thoughts on "Instant Coffee Review"

1. Mary Baxter September 16, 2013 at 10:27 pm Moccona Indulgence is my favourite, it's a little more expensive than Moccona Rich Blend but, it's worth that little extra.

2. Eric Rondeau September 16, 2013 at 10:38 pm Finally, I can say I've found an instant coffee that actually tastes great! Sisel Kaffe is by far the best tasting Coffee I've ever had.

3. James Brown September 17, 2013 at 11:08 pm Great article ... My favourite "INSTANT" coffee is Robert Timms Premium. I do prefer a freshly brewed espresso from my local coffee shop however, after reading your review I would like to give Sisel Kaffe a try. Where can I buy it?

1. admin September 18, 2013 at 8:35 am Thanks James, Sisel Kaffe is not available in retail stores, you can order online at View.MySisel.com. After you have discovered the great taste for yourself you may like to recommend it to your friends and earn a healthy commission by doing so.

1. James Brown September 29, 2013 at 2:18 pm Sisel Kaffe Instant Coffee is Amazing!! It was easy to order online via the link you posted above and it arrived at my door just 7 days later. It tastes much better than Robert Timms Premium instant coffee I had been drinking. Thanks so much for putting me onto it!

4. Meggie Hopkins September 27, 2013 at 11:05 pm I enjoy espresso from freshly ground coffee, but I must admit I don't always enjoy the effort of making it at home. There are times when I just want my coffee to be quick and easy as a cuppa tea, boil some water and you're done. Yes, I know that is lazy and most brands of instant coffee I have tried don't taste anywhere near as good as fresh espresso, but it is heaps better than no coffee at all. I don't care much which instant coffee I grab, I just want my caffeine fix NOW!

5. Robert September 28, 2013 at 5:17 am Hi, Neat post. Sisel Kaffe is rather expensive! Is the taste really that much better than other brands?

6. Mary-Lou September 28, 2013 at 6:30 am I LOVE the convenience of Nescafe 3-in-1 Instant Coffee! A quick and easy cup of coffee with a smooth taste.

7. Ronnie September 28, 2013 at 5:01 pm I like Nescafe GOLD but now that I've read this post I'm going to try Sisel Kaffe. Are there any other varieties apart from standard black?

8. Lyn Wood September 30, 2013 at 2:24 am Sisel Kaffe Black is really nice, it has a smooth rich flavour. BUT, the Dutch Chocolate Mocha Coffee is YUCK! Seriously, it is WAY TOO SWEET it nearly made me sick. I'm sticking with the Geisha Boquete Instant Black Coffee.

9. Organo Gold October 2, 2013 at 11:01 pm If you like quick and easy coffee then I recommend Organo Gold Coffee. This is not like your regular instant coffee it has an added healthy ingredient called Ganoderma. Used by the Chinese for at least 5,000 years Ganoderma has been named the King of Herbs. It supports the Immune System, oxygenates the body and provides stamina. Organo Gold Coffee has more than 100 antioxidants! The only place to buy this amazing premium tasting coffee is through an authorized Organo Gold distributor. Contact me to become a distributor and you will enjoy healthy great tasting Organo Gold Coffee and make money sharing it with your friends.

10. Rocco Corley October 3, 2013 at 4:30 am Kinda off-topic, but why is coffee so popular? Most coffee I've tasted is so bitter you need to add heaps of sugar and milk just to get it down.

11. Joe Rogan October 11, 2013 at 6:06 am I'm not a fan of instant coffee although Starbucks Via is better than most I've tried. After reading your post I'll sure give Sisel Kaffe a try.

12. Larry King October 24, 2013 at 5:53 am I can't start my day without a cup of Folgers classic roast. How come you didn't include Folgers in your review, don't you get it in Australia? Anyway, good post, looking forward to read more.

13. Bobby Brown October 24, 2013 at 3:11 pm I like my coffee STRONG. Most brands of instant coffee lack flavor. I don't mind Starbuck's new Via Instant. I'll give Sisel Kaffe a go and report back. By the way, good review.

14. Dave Toigo October 25, 2013 at 9:39 am I hope you realize, making a GREAT tasting cup of coffee begins far from the Kitchen! Of course it all starts with the coffee bean, no surprise there. What makes Sisel Kaffe special is the multi-award winning Geisha Boquete coffee beans grown in Panama. The unique environmental elements in Boquete combine to create the ulimate coffee experience, well at least in comparision to other brands of instant coffee.

15. Real Coffee Lover October 25, 2013 at 11:25 pm Yikes! Reviewing the flavor of various brands of instant coffee is about as useful as comparing the flavor of dried dog biscuits. Instant is the worst kind of coffee available. Well, that's what I thought prior to actually tasting Sisel Kaffe. What a revelation! Kaffe Premium Black Boquete instant tastes almost as good as the pre-ground Lavazza coffee I normally buy from my local Woolworths supermarket. It's great from the convenience perspective, quick and easy to make. But, why is Sisel Kaffe so expensive?

16. Patti Spencer November 2, 2013 at 12:34 pm It's hard to beat the convenience of instant coffee but I didn't expect to find one that tastes so good! Sisel Kaffe Latte actually tastes better than the cafe latte I get at my local McCafe outlet and what's more I don't have to jump in the car to get one. Sisel Kaffe Rocks!

17. Joe Mundy November 3, 2013 at 12:02 pm I normally have Moccona Instant Rich in the morning. I thought I'd take up your free sample offer and try Sisel Kaffe black coffee for a change. When I opened the sachet the aroma was very good, but when I tried the coffee it tasted very strong and rather strange, like a chemical taste. I'm sorry it's not to my liking.

18. Damien McPhee November 3, 2013 at 2:28 pm Great blog! I didn't expect to find a instant coffee that comes so close to the quality of freshly brewed coffee. Compared with other brands Sisel Kaffe is darn good! In fact, it's the best instant coffee I've ever tasted.

19. Annie Tucker November 7, 2013 at 5:55 am I enjoyed reading your Instant Coffee Review. I gotta tell you previously for me, Folgers Classic Roast was the best part of waking-up. Now I'm sizzling hot and ready to enjoy each new day with Sisel Kaffe Gesha Boquete Black. I'll second Patti's comments above ... Kaffe Rocks!

20. Abagail Bray November 7, 2013 at 8:15 pm I don't usually drink Instant Coffee however, I don't mind the strong flavor of Starbuck's Via. Sisel Kaffe doesn't taste much different, good rich flavor, maybe a little sweeter but it's certainly a lot more economical.

21. Carley Jones November 8, 2013 at 9:18 am The aroma of Sisel Kaffe is fantastic, I love the taste of both the premium black and mocha coffee satchels. I'm going to try the latte next.

22. Cupcake Recipes November 29, 2013 at 12:43 am Great Review. Instant coffee can also be used to make cup cakes that appeal to adult taste-buds.
